The annual Bike-A-Thon brings together thousands of cyclists who ride from Philadelphia to Ventnor City, New Jersey, united by a common purpose: accelerating progress toward a world without cancer. Funds raised through the event support the American Cancer Society’s mission to improve the lives of people facing cancer through research, education, advocacy, and patient assistance programs.
For the Biondo family, the cause is deeply personal. Like many families, they have experienced the devastating impact cancer can have on loved ones. The family’s mother lost her battle with lung cancer at the age of 45, while their father survived prostate cancer before later passing away from neuroendocrine colon cancer in 2023.
“As a family, we’ve witnessed firsthand the challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis,” said Anthony Biondo, CEO of Biondo Creative. “Cancer has touched far too many lives, including those of our family, friends, clients, and community members. Supporting the American Cancer Society and the Bike-A-Thon is one small way we can help advance research, provide support for patients and caregivers, and contribute to the fight against this disease.”
Among the thousands of participants in this year’s ride is Anthony’s brother, John Biondo, who will complete his eighth American Cancer Society Bike-A-Thon in honor of their parents and the many individuals whose lives have been impacted by cancer.
